Abstract Water Alternating Gas (WAG) is a cyclical process that involves alternating water and gas injections with the primary goal to improve sweep efficiency by maintaining initial high pressure, slowing breakthrough, lowering oil viscosity. The objective of this work apply optimize WAG strategy on carbonate field light oil, compare it initially planned water-flooding strategy, investigate capability production. In research, compositional reservoir simulator was utilized model injecting produced into reservoir, using same well structure as an optimized strategy. Subsequently, created, optimizing number locations wells, facilitate comparative analysis two recovery methods. optimization involved detailed assessment variables such Bottom Hole Pressure (BHP), cycle duration, maximum Oil Ratio (GOR), positioning, achieve Net Present Value (NPV). study focuses application modeling in unconventional reservoirs, specifically pre-salt investigates its implications production forecast, emphasizing potential for maximizing NPV recently producing field. results showed improved performance when compared injection greater amount oil. This solution be tested under uncertainties (reservoir heterogeneity, faults, fractures, karsts, vugs, etc.) future steps.
